What is Plan Management?
Plan management is to assist and support NDIS participants to manage their NDIS plan funding.
What is Plan Management?
Plan Management is a service provided in a NDIS Plan that will allow you, the Participant support to manage your NDIS funding.
The Plan Manager’s role is to help you with more control over your funding and to streamline the process of accessing and paying for supports and services. A Plan Manager can help by making payments to providers and ensuring all expenses are within the plan budget.
What are the differences between the way a plan can be managed?
1. Self-management:
A self-managed plan allows you to manage your own NDIS budget. You are responsible for paying your support providers and keeping track of your expenses. You receive funding directly from the NDIS and must keep receipts and invoices for each payment.
2. Plan management:
When a plan is plan managed, you can hire someone else to manage your NDIS budget for you. The plan manager will receive funding from the NDIS and make payments to your support providers. You still have control over how your funds are spent, but the plan manager handles the administrative tasks.
3. NDIA-managed:
If a plan is NDIA-managed the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency) will manage your NDIS plan on your behalf. The agency will arrange and pay for your support services directly. This option is only available in certain circumstances, such as if you have complex support needs or if you are vulnerable and need extra protection.
